My Greatest Wish

I’ve shared a lot of school stories, so if you’re sick of them, you can just skip this blog post. I think this is really interesting. I had my class write about their greatest wish, after we had read a story about a girl doing the same thing. I was surprised, because I received some really good papers. Here’s one I have to share (spelling is edited!).

“At first I thought that my wish would be to have a million dollars. But then I said to myself that everybody would want that. Or to have my own car. Or to have my own house. But now I know everybody would want all those. Or to have everything they want. I really don’t have one. I don’t have a great wish. I like the world just how it is.”

I thought that was so interesting, because we are often so focused on all the things we want, but really most of the time we can just enjoy the world exactly how it is and we can be happy! It’s fun to learn from these kids as I teach them.

That is a very sweet wish. It is amazing how little children can be happier with what they have then some adults.

That’s so great! I want to be more like that kiddo!

Oh, how cute. My cynical side thinks this was a kid who just didn’t want to think much about his/her homework. My other side says, how really nice to be able to like life how it is and be satisfied. I’m leaning toward this latter thought.
