Vacation!!

Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments »

Well our vacation has ended and unfortunately Steve and I are back to work. At least Steve doesn’t have school anymore!! HE IS GRADUATED!!!!! Congratulation to Steve! He is such a hard worker and I am so proud of him! I am so impressed that he could work, go to school, and find time to spend time with me too! He is the best! I will post pictures of his graduation, but I have to get them from my parents–they took pictures for us!! So look forward to those pictures!

We had a great time on our vacation. It was really relaxing vacation. We had such a fun time just spending time together! We spent three days in Oceanside, Oregon. It is just a cute little town. It is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere (we didn’t even get cell phone reception until we drove to the next biggest town). It has such a beautiful beach and it wasn’t crowded at all. We went to the beach each morning, and had fun searching for treasures like sand dollars and agates–we must be little kids at heart!

While we were there, we went and saw a lighthouse. It definitely wasn’t what I expected, but it was interesting. It was a smaller lighthouse. We hiked up to a tree called the Octopus Tree! I’ll have to post a picture of that later. We also went on a few scenic drives. It was such a beautiful place. And we even got a tour of the Tilamook Cheese factory (with cheese samples and everything). We also ate at a few of the local places. Steve’s favorite was Rachel’s Family Diner. He said that they made the best hamburger he’s ever had in his life. The cook even came out to see how we liked our food! That’s service!! :)

Then we were able to spend another three days in Portland with Will and Challene (Steve’s brother and sister-in-law). We had a great time there! We were able to enjoy time on the Wii (of course Steve wouldn’t leave home without the Wii!) We had fun playing with their cute boys, Ethan and Josh.

We were also able to go to the Portland Temple. We also went and visited some of the waterfalls in the area. Challene was our personal photographer for all of the waterfall pictures.

Thanks for being such great hosts Will and Challene! Oregon is such a beautiful, green place to visit!! I definitely recommend it!!

Oceanside Oregon Vacation

Steve and I are enjoying life right now. We are in Oceanside, Oregon. We have been here for a couple of days and of course since I’m addicted to blogging, I had to add to our blog. We are staying in a hotel called Clifftop Inn and it is literally on the cliff overlooking the ocean. Our room has the most amazing view. We have enjoying just relaxing at looking out at the ocean. We’ve had a great time walking on the beach, enjoying lots of incredible scenery, and a few of the fun sites to see around here. We’ll post more pictures later, but here are a few pictures of the view from our window.

What Spice are you?

Steve

You Are Garlic

Of all the spice types, you are the most universally loved.

You get long with pretty much everyone, and you leave a lasting impression.

You adapt yourself well to situations. You can fit in or stand out, depending on what you’re called on to do.

Amy

You Are Basil

You are quite popular and loved by post people.

You have a mild temperament, but your style is definitely distinctive.

You are sweet, attractive, and you often smell good.

What flavor of Ice Cream are you?

Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

Wow! Steve and I are both the same flavor!!

You Are Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

You are kind, popular, and generous.

You tend to be successful at anything you try.

A social butterfly, you are great at entertaining a crowd.

You are most compatible with strawberry ice cream.

Teaching English

This summer I get to do something fun. There is a group of teenagers (12-15 years old) that are coming from China to stay in Utah for three weeks. They stay with a host family, but for four days a week, they have some language classes for a few hours. I get to teach those language classes with another teacher from my school. It should be really fun, because we get to focus on teaching them American culture by doing different activities, instead of just staying in a classroom all day. We have some fun ideas, but we’re still looking for some more, so if anyone has ideas on what we should teach them about American culture, please share!!

Steve's Baby Face

Steve was going to post this himself, but he hasn’t had a chance, so I thought I would post for him. Last week Steve was getting his hair cut, and she of course asked him about his weekend plans. He said that he didn’t have much going on that weekend, but next weekend was his graduation! She then asks him which high school he is graduating from!!! I guess we both look really young!! :)
